Personal Statement

Let me begin by saying that I give all my thanks to the Almighty God. I believe he has given me the talents that I posses so that I may use them to their fullest. He has given me a position that allows me to reach many people, and the least I can do for that is represent the Lord to the best of my ability, and touch those that I come in contact with. I am usually not the fastest swimmer, or cyclist, or runner, often none of the above, but I believe, and have seen, and would even say I have proved that the power of prayer is immeasurable. One of my favorite passages that comforts and encourages me is Psalm 37. This piece of the Psalm is most reassuring to me...

¹³ "but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he knows their day is coming.

     ¹⁴ The wicked draw the sword
       and bend the bow
       to bring down the poor and needy,
       to slay those whose ways are upright.

¹⁵ But their swords will pierce their own hearts,
and their bows will be broken. "

Also invaluable to me are my family and friends. It is amazing how people that love me often have more confidence in myself than I do. My dad has seen me through things, like becoming a swimmer, that I believed to be impossible. Without friends like Danny and Greg, I would not be able to push through my workouts on a day to day basis. It is most reassuring to know that I am never alone, and I have the perpetual advantage; "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Rom. 8.31)
